Pupils give back for Mother's Day

Senior School pupils at Argyle House School have been collecting gifts in support of the “Love Amelia” Mother’s Day appeal.

The local charity aims to support families facing challenging circumstances has launched a Mother’s Day appeal encouraging the local community to donate thoughtful gifts and essential items. Their generosity will help bring joy to families in need, making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Headteacher Mrs Nicola Smillie expressed her pride in the students’ efforts, stating, "At Argyle House School, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community and compassion. It’s inspiring to see our pupils embrace the spirit of giving and show appreciation for mothers who deserve extra support."

Senior School teacher and organiser of the initiative, Mrs Sharron Thirkell, said, “We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their kindness and generosity. Taking part in this appeal is about more than just donating gifts—it’s about showing empathy and support for families who may be facing difficulties. Mother’s Day should be a time of love and appreciation, and we hope these contributions bring comfort and joy to those who need it most.”

We would like to thank the team from Love Amelia who came into school to deliver an assembly explaining all about the fantastic work they do and how the pupils’ donations will support this cause.
